Who we are

At RootED, we are a collective of passionate educators, community organizers, abolitionists, and change makers committed to fostering transformative, justice-centred learning environments and relational ecosystems. Our work is rooted in the work of adrienne maree brown’s emergent strategy principles, anti-oppressive pedagogy, decolonized embodiment, life-affirming learning, and abolitionist ethics, all co-created with the purpose of actualizing equity, inclusion, and collective liberation.

Led by Ms. K, a restorative and transformative practitioner with extensive experience in mediation and facilitation, a seasoned advocate and educator for equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and human rights with decades of experience working nationally and internationally, our vision is to equip educators, leaders, and communities with the tools to create adaptive spaces centred on the root systems that inform the health of a seed’s growth; whether that seed is an idea, a collective action, or a student in our care. With a deep commitment to cultural relevance and social justice, we believe that education is not only about imparting knowledge — it is about creating spaces where every person and community can thrive, be heard, and lead with agency and the collective in mind, heart, and spirit.

We are driven by the belief that change happens when communities come together, learn together, and co-create together. We work from a place of deep reflection, informed by lived experience, collective wisdom, and extensive education, to support educators and collectives in navigating the complexities of today’s world with integrity and intention.

Through workshops, facilitation, creative strategy, hands-on development and inclusive design, we collaborate and partner with those who are ready to move beyond traditional methods and explore evolved, innovative, and more inclusive ways of teaching, learning, leading, and living. At RootED, we don’t just educate — we inspire, empower, and work alongside you. We bring the authentic knowledge of this deep work to the world as it is — honouring the wisdom found in lived experience, shared struggles, and collective care. Whether in your neighbourhood, union, classroom, or digital spaces and beyond, we work alongside you to cultivate meaningful and sustainable change.

Transformation isn’t just a theory — it’s practice, relationship, and a commitment to a world that reflects our deepest values.

Our guiding vision is rooted in a commitment to cultivating the knowledge, practices, and embodied experience needed to respond to the complexities of our world and shared experiences with humanity, humility, flexibility, and intention. Our work is not just about adapting to change but shaping it together. It is about creating learning and living spaces that are alive, evolving, and deeply rooted in the wisdom of those who move through them.

True transformation is not imposed. It is nurtured, shared, and carried forward in community.

The work of liberation is never solitary. It takes root in the choices we make, the spaces we cultivate, the relationships we tend to, the communities we desire to see flourish, and carries forward through collective action and commitment.

When we root ourselves in this truth with intention and care, transformation is not only possible…

It is already unfolding.
